Locate managed device
KACE Cloud allows you to quickly locate an iOS, Android, or company-owned Windows device. This feature is not supported for macOS or personal Windows devices.
To locate a managed device:
- iOS and Android devices only. Enable location tracking:
- Approve the KACE Cloud Connect app and add it to the Library.
- Ensure the app is installed on the managed iOS or Android device.
- Ensure that location tracking rules are applied to the device so that administrators can track them, when needed.
For complete instructions, see Configuring location tracking.
- Go to Devices in top navigation and select the device that you want to locate.
If you cannot find an enrolled device in the list, ensure that you do not have any filters applied, and refresh the page. For more information about filtering devices, see Filter devices.
- In the right panel, go to the Location tab.
- On the Location tab, ensure the History view is displayed.
- To locate the device, click Locate.

TIP: If you select a device with an unsupported OS, like a macOS or a personal Windows device, this button is disabled.
The Locate Device view appears.
- Company-owned Windows devices only. Optional: In the Locate Device view, select Force location services. This may prevent an error if location settings are disabled on the managed device.
- In the Locate Device view, confirm that you want to locate the device.
The device location appears on the map.

NOTE: Requesting a location of a Windows virtual machine may not provide accurate results.
- To review past locations tracked by administrators, review the list of location entries under the map.
For iOS and Android devices, the list shows addresses where the device is located. For Windows devices, the list only shows coordinates.
To locate a lost iOS device:
